Sedro Trail offers a true residential model of care. With only 9 residents, we have a family style environment; not an institutional feel. Also, Sedro Trail offers 1:3 caregiver to resident ratio during the day to offer resident assistance with all daily activities and personally engage each resident to maximize their functional independence.

Yes, Sedro Trail is licensed as a Type B assisted living facility with Alzheimer?s certification through the Texas Department of Aging and Disability Services.

3. Do you accept Medicare?
No, Medicare does not reimburse for any assisted living facilities. Long-term care insurance programs and VA benefits through the Veterans Aid and Attendance Benefit offer some assistance with monthly reimbursement for medical and care needs.

Yes, through the Veterans Aid and Attendance Pension Benefit, depending upon eligibility.

The Veterans Aid and Attendance Pension

Depending on individual eligibility, Veterans Aid and Attendance Pension may provide as much as $2,100 per month in additional income. Eligibility depends on your veterans application for compensation or pension, which covers your medical needs, assets, income and out-of-pocket medical expenses, among other topics.

5. Do you offer assistance with daily activities?
Yes, at Sedro Trail each resident will be given 24/7 assistance with the performance of all daily activities such as bathing, dressing, toileting, and grooming/hygiene. We will assist the resident with all transfers as needed from wheelchair to bed/toilet/chair/recliner to ensure their safety. We will provide assistance as needed with ambulation or wheelchair mobility throughout the residence and outdoors.

6. Are all meals provided?
Yes, 3 nutritious meals are served daily along with snacks between meals as desired.

7. Do you take care of resident's laundry?
Yes, resident's clothes are laundered and ironed daily. Resident's linens will be washed weekly unless otherwise needed sooner.

8. Can a person in a wheelchair move into Sedro Trail?
Yes, Sedro Trail is 100% wheelchair accessible indoors and outdoors. We have 2 ADA compliant large bathrooms with roll in showers and grab bars in each shower and at each toilet. All doorways and hallways are ADA approved and wheelchair accessible. Outdoors we have a 200 foot concrete trail in the fenced backyard for residents to enjoy.

9. Can home health and hospice services come to Sedro Trail to work with my loved one?
Yes, as ordered by the resident's physician all home health and hospice services are welcomed at Sedro Trail.

10. What kind of security and safety features do you have at the residence?
Sedro Trail offers state of the art alarms on all doors and windows. The residence is equipped with a fire sprinkler and fire alarm system to ensure fire safety. ADA approved wheelchair ramps are at every exit to maximize speed and safety with exiting the residence. All resident bathrooms are ADA approved with roll in showers and grab bars in the showers and at the toilets. We have a secure 1 acre backyard to allow residents the ability to enjoy the outdoors without concerns of resident elopement.

11. Will you accept a resident who is incontinent?
Yes, we provide all incontinence supplies at no extra charge. We have a bowel and bladder management program in place to assist in preventing accidents.
